In addition to the features descr ibed in subsequent se ctio ns, the
chassis inclu
des the following features:
One pair of m et
al brackets can be mounted at the front or center of the
chassis. Use the brackets for mounting the chassis in a rack or cabinet.
Two protective earthing terminals, PEM nuts at the rear of the chassis.
One electrostatic discharge (ESD) point, a banana plug receptacle at the
front of the chassis.
CAUTION: Before removing or installing co mponents of a functioning router, a ttach
an ESD strap to
anESDpointandplacetheotherendofthestraparoundyourbare
wrist. Failure to use an ESD strap could result in damage to the router.
The router must be connected to earth ground d urin g normal operation. The
protective earthing terminals on the rear of the chassis are provided to connect the
router to gro
und (see Figure 3). Addition al grounding is provided to an AC-powered
router when you p lug its power supply into a grounded AC power receptacle.
